The Walt Disney Company has introduced a new concept in Disney travel, Adventures by Disney. In an attempt in introduce the Disney Magic to vacations away from the Disney theme parks, they are offering guided trips to such fantastic destinations as Italy, Yellowstone, Costa Rica, China, Australia, London and Paris.

During the summer of 2005, Disney quietly solicited participants for the initial vacations to Hawaii and Yellowstone. The Adventures by Disney in 2005 were limited to a very small number of guests in a sort of pilot program to see how the adventures would be received by the general public.

Disney offered special introductory pricing to attract guests to try the initial adventures. They introductory pricing was expensive, to say the least. A 7 night “Escape to Paradise” package to Hawaii was $7,800 for a family of four.. The packages included most of the meals and lodging, but not airfare to Hawaii.
